Inspiration
Our inspiration for interiors and interior design in Zanzibar derives from Swahili architecture. We aim to build in the same way ancient building traditions shaped houses and homes along the east and southeast African coastline.
Swahili architecture is a cultural combination of influences ranging from mainland Africa, to the Middle East, to the Arabian Peninsula, to South Asia.
Swahili architecture is characterized by material culture that constitutes social, economic and cultural interactions between East Africa and other parts of the world.

Tradition
Among the Swahili city-states emerges a series of cosmopolitan cities on the East African coast, which had come to considerable wealth through intensive trade in gold and ivory. The common language is Swahili, the common religion is Islam. Over the centuries, social and cultural structures were woven into the architecture of the cities and their houses. Elements of African, Arabic and other societies melted into another – to form a culture of their own.
With us you will find subtle combination of contemporary influences, as well as exquisite Islamic, Iranian, Arabic, Swahili and Indian currents in a coherent architectural expression.
